About us • An initiative started by Sarva Vidya Trust to help students from poor families cope with the pressures of high school and continue their education after 12th grade • A group of 5 schools – 3 of Sri Rama Krishna Group (T.Nagar), The Presidency School(Egmore) and Avvai Home (Adayar) are covered under this program. Plans are in progress to add 3 more schools into the list in this educational year • A total of 700+ students from the year of starting have been financially benefited by this program. This program was initiated by a parent organization as a pilot project and has grown since then. Started initially with 9 students, today it is striving to support around 150 students each year and the count still increases.

  3. Principal’s of the school recommend the students list based on the aggregate and financial condition. Interview & SelectionProcess Interview panel interviews each student and parents. Evaluation is based on Academic Aggregates, Communication skills, Financial position, Student's capability & Dreams Decision on the scholarship is either Merit based or Add value Based Final Decision of the list by Trustee Member Conduct Medical camp and identify Physical fitness status Sponsor search and explain about the student Collect Funds and payment to Students

  4. NCLB Program • On observation it was identified that the repetitive percentage of the students was gradually decreasing. • Reasons behind were analyzed. The highlights of the analysis are • Lack of continuous support for the students in academics • Health of the student due to Malnutrition • Decline of Moral support from parents • Unhealthy family environment diverting the attention • Discouraging support on higher education from family and society • Negative influence from environment and society • Considering all the above factors, NCLB program was introduced to extend our support to the student not only at the begin but all through the year continuously • With through discussions and experimentations the program was specially designed to provide a good and healthy environment to the student.

Aims of the Program • Continuous Academic support to the student by conducting classes on a daily basis by well qualified external teachers. • Special classes to increase English spoken and written skills. These programs are specially designed to be self involved and learn knowledge through art and fun. • Classes on usage of Computers by explaining the application in real time world. Basic necessary software for all and programming skills for senior students are covered. • Conduct programs to remove stage fear from the individual and make them more confident. • Develop a good friendly relation with the student to know more about personal and family problems and provide good moral and all possible support. • Monitor the student all through the year and get good results.

Monitoring Process • Grade monitoring with student counselors • Keep In Touch program for parent and student counseling • Student guides for all support at any time. • Increasing the responsibility of the sponsor by Sponsor relationship program • Frequent meetings with parents, teachers and sponsors • Overall Task force team for observation on a bi-weekly basis • Medical counselors for health support. Monitoring happens with an overall ratio of 2:5 i.e (Councellor : Student)

Budget proposal for Asha support – 3 years * Budget is designed for 250 students who will benefit over 3 years as per current market standards in Indian Rupees Target for 2010- 50 students, 5 teachers Target for 2011-100 students, 10 teachers Target for 2012-100 students, 10 teachers *Costs like Special training for 12th standards, Infrastructure, Hardware, Software and Misc cost are not included.

  8. Current Finance Sources • Our group has interacted with around 150 individuals and are making them sponsor for 1 student. Each sponsor pays the yearly school fee for each student • Rs. 50,000/- is allocated by Sarva Vidya trust for Add Value scholarships every year. • Around Rs.1, 20, 000/- is donated internally by the trainers and student guides.
