  2. Concept of Supervision Supervision is the process of encouraging the members of a work unit to contribute positively towards accomplishing the organizational goal(s). A supervisor is a person who is given authority and responsibility for planning and controlling the work of a group by close contact. -Betts, 1992

  3. Concept of…(contd.) • A supervisor’s job is all about to establish goals and lead a team of people to achieve them. • A supervisor need to know: his/her job, people, organization and boundaries (limitations)

  9. Responsibilities of a Supervisor • Establishing a warm and trusting working climate • Assign specific duties to each worker • Handle employees’ problems promptly • Train employees in job-related skills • Counsel when needed
