  1. Truth Matters! 1st Letter of John chapter 2 verses 18-27

  2. 18 Dear children, the last hour is here. You have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the last hour has come. 19 These people left our churches, but they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong with us. 20 But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit [anointing], and all of you know the truth. 21 So I am writing to you not because you don’t know the truth but because you know the difference between truth and lies. 22 And who is a liar? Anyone who says that Jesus is not the Christ.[b] Anyone who denies the Father and the Son is an antichrist.[c]23 Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either. But anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. 24 So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. 25 And in this fellowship we enjoy the eternal life he promised us. 26 I am writing these things to warn you about those who want to lead you astray. 27 But you have received the Holy Spirit [anointing], and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit [anointing] teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true - it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.

  3. ‘The Fateful Fact’ - Dick Williams If there is no reason behind the universe, then that is a fact, and it is a fact I need to know. For if I knew that, I should know that whatever reason I can construct for living will be sheer invention, having no authority whatever, save that of my own mind. But if there is a reason for everything, that too is a fact, and it is even more important that I should know it. For to be alive for a purpose and to be ignorant of it, would be a tragedy beyond imagination.

  6. 18 Dear children, the last hour is here. You have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the last hour has come. 19 These people left our churches, but they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong with us. 20 But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit,[a] and all of you know the truth. 21 So I am writing to you not because you don’t know the truth but because you know the difference between truth and lies. 22 And who is a liar? For the Spirit[e] teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true - it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.

  7. The letters spell the word “fish” in Greek Iēsous Christos Theou (h)Yios Sōtēr Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour

  8. Gnosticism (gnosis) – knowledge “Not because of who I am But because of what You've done Not because of what I've done But because of who You are.” From Casting Crowns song ‘Who am I?’ What are the false teachings, the heresies, about Jesus Christ today?

  9. Rick Warren Quote  Our Western culture has accepted two big lies? 1. Disagreeing with someone's lifestyle means you fear or hate them. 2. Loving someone means you agree with everything they do or believe. Both are untrue. You don't have to compromise your convictions to be compassionate.
