  2. AP Exam Tuesday May 10,2011 Morning Session

  3. Required for DE students An expectation for all AP Government Students

  4. 6 week Purpose To get students prepared to score well on the AP Government Exam in May.

  5. Focus Time There are 30 class periods until the AP Exam on May 10th. Class meetings will include a number of learning techniques such as: lectures, group discussion, individual research, group work, reading, writing and testing.

  6. How the test will affect your AP Government Overall Class Grade

  7. AP 4th Quarter Assessments (4) Project (Develop Study Guide for AP test) External reading assignment (TBD) Hanson Practice AP Exam ( late April ) (one of the following) Official AP Exam in May (see next slide) or 10-12 Page Written Book Analysis

AP 4th Quarter Assessments (4) AP 4th Quarter Assessments Those taking the AP exam will be able to use one of their 3 test scores from Q3 as the test to factor into the 4Q grades. ====================================== Those NOT taking the AP exam will be required to complete the book analysis assignment.

  9. AP 4th Quarter Assessments (4) AP 4th Quarter Assessments Those who sign up for the AP exam but do not take the exam will be required to complete the book analysis assignment by May 17th, 3pm NO EXCEPTIONS !

  11. Course Purpose Students not taking the AP exam in May will be expected to make up that portion of their class grade through a written assessment of an outside resource. ( i.e. Major book report ) This book report requirements will be spelled out closer to the end of the semester, but will be at minimum 12 pages in length. The literary piece will be chosen by the teacher.

  12. Course Purpose In the remaining 6 weeks, students will engage in an intensive approach towards earning a high score on the AP exam. If you want it bad enough, you can make it happen !

  13. Exam Format 2 hours and 25 minutes long. • It includes 60 multiple-choice questions that you will have 45 minutes to complete. • It includes 4 questions of “free-response” that you will have 100 minutes to complete.
