The second phase of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will resume in September in the UAE. And, all the eyes will be on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) since they had a poor show last season. The mega auction will be taking place before the 2022 season and, it would be interesting to know whether the team retains their one of the key players and the captain, MS Dhoni for the next three years.

  1. Suresh Raina Is Confident CSK Will Win IPL 2021 The second phase of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will resume in September in the UAE. And, all the eyes will be on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) since they had a poor show last season. The mega auction will be taking place before the 2022 season and, it would be interesting to know whether the team retains their one of the key players and the captain, MS Dhoni for the next three years. Image Source by Twitter Although the CSK CEO has already dismissed rumors of this IPL season as being MS Dhoni’s last, the speculations are there that it might be his last as well. Meanwhile, Suresh Raina, who is the other important member of CSK, wants the franchise to win the title this season under his MS Dhoni’s leadership. Both of them share a great camaraderie and have always backed each other on several occasions too.

  2. However, the bond between MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina can be seen everywhere. Even both of them announced retirement from international cricket for India on the same day last year as well.   3. And, now, Suresh Raina wants to see another title win under MS Dhoni’s captaincy by winning the fourth IPL title for CSK as well. Before the cancellation of IPL 2021 due to COVID-19, the team was in the second position in the points table and will try to keep the same momentum on when the second-leg of IPL 2021 resumes in the UAE before the T20 World Cup. However, CSK has returned with a bang this year, compared to the last season, when they failed to reach the playoffs for the very first time in the 2020 edition. While talking about the same on Star Sports, Suresh Raina said, “Hopefully, when we go to Dubai, we will have a camp and we can again win it for him. I think the way we were playing this year, we were having some extra confidence from his captaincy and he was enjoying each other’s success.” He again shared, “He was giving freedom to all the players and having Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo, and Ruturaj in the side, we had the momentum.
