Renewable Energy Legislation NC’s Renewable Energy & Efficiency Portfolio Standard: - 12.5% electricity as renewable by 2020 for Investor Owned Utilities - Renewable Energy Resources: • Solar, solar thermal, wind hydropower, geothermal, ocean current or wave energy. • Biomass, biogas, landfill methane. • Waste heat or hydrogen derived from a renewable resource. - NC Incentives • 35% Tax Credit • Accelerated Depreciation • Leverage with federal incentives
