Evaluation of Nonpoint Source Pollution in Upper Saline River Watershed

This project aims to identify and assess sedimentation sources like stream bank erosion, gravel roads, construction, and land clearing activities in a priority subwatershed. Stream surveys will be conducted to evaluate erosion rates and sediment deposition.

Assessing Nonpoint Source Pollution Sources for a Priority Subwatershed of the Upper Saline River October 2005 to January 2008 • After tonight’s meeting, there will be: • 2 more Public Meetings • 1 Field Tour in the Spring of 2007 • This project will investigate the following sedimentation sources: • Stream Bank Erosion • Gravel Roads • Construction • Other Land Clearing Activities Stream surveys will be taken in 2006 and 2007 to evaluate stream bank erosion rate and amount of sediment deposited in the stream bed.
