BACKGROUND • July 1981: Failure at Kansas City Hyatt Hotel • 1983: Building Structural Failures Conference • Nov 1984 Decision: Publish a Manual of Professional Practice for Quality in the Constructed Project.” • 1988: Preliminary Edition – 15,000 copies sold • 1990: 1st Edition published – 13,000 copies sold • 2000: 2d Edition published - 1,700 copies sold
