ABSTRACT The Influence of Low Substitued Hydroxypropil Cellulose (L-HPC) LH 11 On The Physical Characteristics Cassava Starch Pregelatinized As Excipient of Direct Compress Tablet The influence of low substituted hydroxypropil cellulose (L-HPC LH 11) as excipient of direct compress tbaket were investigated in various amount to orally tablet on the physical characteristics cassava starch pregelatinized. Cassava starch pregelatinized was made at 55oC for 70 minutes followed by tray drying at 35oC for 12-18 hours. The research of cassava starch pregelatinized was sieved with 28 mesh 50 rpm. Concentration of L-HPC LH 11 by 5%, 10% and 0% as control was added in dry form to abserve the significant difference in physical characteristic including hardness, friability and disintegration time. After physical characteristic testing conducted, the result was analyzed by statistic program of SPSS 10.00 using to way analysis of variance in 95% confidence interval. The result showed that there was significant difference in physical caharacteristic among the formula. The desirable out put shown by addition of 5% L-HPC LH 11 which characteristic hardness range value 4.85 kP - 7.03 kP, friability range value of 0.69% - 2.26%, disintegration time of not less than 30 second.
