Density. A Physical Property. Density is the amount of “junk” something has in it. So…..Just by looking at the super ball, beach ball and the basketball, which would be more dense?. Okay, so what really is density?.

  2. Density is the amount of “junk” something has in it. • So…..Just by looking at the super ball, beach ball and the basketball, which would be more dense?

  3. Okay, so what really is density? • Density relates to how much mass of a material is in a given amount of volume (density = mass/volume). • Who was the first to figure out Density? • Archimedes

  4. And the story goes something like this?

  5. Volume • In science, we usually measure volume in Graduated Cylinders or beakers. • Volume is the amount of space something takes up.
