  2. La Pronunciación • K and W appear only in words of foreign origin. (kilo, whisky) • H is always silent. (hay, hola) • CH is the fourth letter of the alphabet and sounds like it does in English. (chaleco) • B and V are identical in sound. • Y alone or at the end of the word sounds like long e without the glide. (y, rey, hay) • Y everywhere else sounds like the y in yellow. (mayo, ya, yo) • X sounds like the English ks or gs.

  3. La Pronunciación • C before a, o, u sounds like an English k. (carro, con) • C before e, i sounds like an English s. (cigarro, cierto) • G before a, o, u sounds like a hard English g. (hago, pongo) • G before e, i is soft. (gente, agente )

  4. La Pronunciación • Z before a, o, u sounds like an English s. (zapato) • RR and initial R or R after l, n, s are trilled.(carro, perro, Roberto, rato) • R everywhere else is a single tap that almost sounds like an English d.
