FEPSIFormative Evaluation Process for School ImprovementDr. Steven Ross – CREP (Center for Research In Educational Policy) University of Memphis Raising Student Achievement through Data-Driven Improvement Planning • School Action Plan/ACSIP: Includes Achievement Data (Benchmark Exams, EOCs, DMP, CSRD, FEPSI Benchmarking, SOM, CWT • SWP: School-Wide Program • CSRD: Comprehensive School-wide Reform Design • SCI: School Climate Inventory Addresses environmental issues that are foundational to program success in any school • SWPTQ: School-wide Program Teacher Questionnaire Based on five scales: support, capacity/resources, pedagogy, outcomes, and focus

FEPSIFormative Evaluation Process for School ImprovementDr. Steven Ross – CREP (Center for Research In Educational Policy) University of Memphis • SOM: School Observation Measure and/or Classroom Walk Throughs (CWT) Summaries of ten 15-minute observations and/or classroom walk throughs conducted in a single day for the purposes of collecting data on the type of methods and instructional strategies demonstrated by teachers • Implementation FEPSI Benchmarking Using data/feedback to assess if curriculum is standards based, learners are actively engaged and instructional strategies varied in an effort to raise student achievement • Student Achievement Results Using benchmark data (SAT 10, MAT. Arkansas Benchmark Exams) to identify strengths/weaknesses in all sub populations, prioritize and develop goals and specify interventions in an effort to raise student achievement • Formative Assessment • Summative Assessment

SCHOOL ACTION PLANS: Purpose • Improve Educational Achievement for All Students with Special Attention to Black Students and others who are At-Risk of Academic Failure • Decrease the Performance Gap Between Non Black and Black Students • Decrease the Disparity in Discipline between Non Black and Black Students

Discipline Management Plan • ORDER • DISCIPLINE MANAGEMENT PLAN/School Climate/ACSIP • School faculty will work in vertical and horizontal teams to develop and implement a discipline plan that takes into consideration student voice, parental feedback and differential learning styles • Discipline data such as documentation, logs, office discipline referrals, bus referrals, and suspensions will be analyzed and used to develop, revise and evaluate the school wide discipline plan • Teachers will routinely communicate with parents about their child’s behavior • Rules and consequences will be established, explained, modeled and posted at the beginning of the school year throughout the building • BREAKOUT • Teams/Questions • Report Back
