  2. Overview • Andrew Lovett Biography / Context • Problem Statement • What am I doing about it? • A Shared Understanding (padlet exercise http://padlet.com/wall/4mr2jy656e) • Possible solutions (another padlet exercise http://padlet.com/wall/1o4hy21dkb) • What happens next? • Socrative exercise (login to room number 520896) • (You can go to the website, use an android or apple app and enter room number) Your feedback throughout and after the session is welcome @ http://padlet.com/wall/h1qizd3ws0

  3. Problem Statement: (from my negotiated task) The UB Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM) has been a great success delivered in partnership with GOTAFE. One issue that we have identified over the duration of the program is the skills gap facing students at the commencement of the course. But There is more to it and it is relevant to VET courses too.

  4. What am I doing about it? • Created and distributed a survey to all current and past GOTAFE BAMS students. • Will create a bridging course for future intakes. • Will create and distribute a similar survey for Dip PM, Dip Management students. • Work with LLN to devise appropriate bridging strategy. • Asking for your input

  5. Survey Monkey – What did I ask? What was your training pathway to the BAM program ? How were you prepared for the BAM Program in the following areas? How much would you value training before the course in the following areas? If you were offered pre-course training what option would suit you best? What other support would you find useful during your time undertaking the course? Take a look for yourself at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BCFCFCN

  6. Survey Monkey – What did I learn? Approximately50% of students came into the course having RPL’dthe requirements Respondents said they were only “somewhat prepared” for the academic challenge Respondents placed a high value on pre course training in academic disciplines. A significant majority of students favoured a blended approach to pre course academic training. Take a look for yourself at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BCFCFCN
