  4. II.Main idea of the text • This text is a science fiction. In the “ new society ” by Leacock, there’s no war,hunger,disease, natural disasters and gender inequality. But life is dull, empty and meaningless. In fact, these problems gives life interest, fullness and purpose. A world without these is not only impossible, but also un desir-able.

Words and Phrases 1.To begin with...----First of all I should admit that I did it to some degree out of jealousy. 1)begin with: first of all 2)partly: to some degree. 3)from: out of, due to. • 2. It seemed unfair.... 1)at will: just as or when sb.wishes;freely. 2)drop into: pass or slip into a condition.
