  2. Welcome to 4th Grade! Please Sign In at the U table Please, feel free to look around the classroom and ask any questions you may have.

  3. Paperwork Fill out as much as you can tonight. Please fill out both sides of the office locator card and leave it here tonight. Please leave your completed papers in the colored folder and take home the other papers.

  4. School Time School Day Begins at 7:55 a.m. Tardy Bell is at 8:00 School ends at 3:05.

  5. Dismissal Procedure Fill out the information on the blue clip board on the U-table before you leave tonight.

  6. BUS INFORMATION If you have a question about your child’s bus, you may go to the gym tonight to get your questions/concerns addressed.

  7. Class Rules Listen and follow all directions the first time. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself. Raise your hand. Take care of our property. Use appropriate language for school. Come to school prepared.

  8. Mrs. Kula’s Positive Behavior Plan All students begin each day with green Status will change throughout the day. green-great blue- warning/time out yellow-silent lunch orange-note/phone call home red-office 3. Students will have many opportunities to make positive behavior choices.

  9. Rewards for Making Great Choices • Students will earn tickets for making positive behavior choices which will be entered in our weekly class drawing.

  10. CharacterExpectations GOLDEN RULE: Treat others the way you want to be treated. SILVER RULE: If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. *BRONZE RULE: Do not speak about things you know nothing about. (Do not spread gossip.) *Quote by Dr. Hemmerlein, EIPC

  11. Homework Generally assigned on a nightly basis (reading, spelling, math) Agenda needs to be reviewed and signed (or initialed) nightly. Parents should notify me of any special circumstances causing student to miss a homework assignment.

  13. Absences Must have a note, phone call or email for EVERY absence. Notes need to be submitted within 2 days of absence.

  14. MI (previously ENCORE) We will rotate through six different classes which will include 3 PE classes, 1 music, 1 art and 1 technology (computer lab class).

  15. TENNIS SHOES All children should wear tennis shoes to school EVERY day. Students cannot participate in P.E. or recess without appropriate shoes.

  16. Cafeteria Prices:Breakfast - $1.00 / Reduced 30¢Adults - a la carte pricesLunch - $2.00/ Reduced 40¢Adults - a la carte prices Parents must sit at lunch table and abide by 10 minute silent lunch or go (with your child only) to courtyard. Use soft voices in the courtyard and no running around due to close proximity of classrooms to courtyard.

  17. Lunch Our lunch time is 11:45-12:15 We will not have snack in 4th grade. Make sure to eat a good breakfast and lunch.

  18. INSIDE TEMPERATURE We do not have control of the thermostats here at school. Students should bring/leave a jacket or sweatshirt at school. (PLEASE LABEL)

  19. 4th Grade Parent Information Night Tuesday, September 13, 2011, 6:00-7:00 p.m.

  20. Volunteering I love volunteers in the classroom! This will begin later, around October. Make sure you fill out the background check form (must do this annually) even if you just want to chaperone on field trips. Must have volunteer training. (If you had the training last year, you do not need to do it again.)

About Mrs.Kula Graduate of East Carolina University Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Reading Certificate K-12 2005 Graduate of Capella University Master of Science in K-12 Education 2012 Eighth year teaching Grew up in Western, Massachusetts. Moved to NC in 2001 Has a five year old daughter named Riley and a 5 month old daughter, Mackenzie.
