  2. What is Macon Early College ? • A different High School in Macon County. • On the Southwestern Community College Campus in Macon County. • Begins in the 9th grade. • Earn a High School Diploma and up to Two Years of College Credit in five years.

  3. SCC Macon Campus • Opened in August 2007 • State of the Art facility with 27,000 sq. ft. • A second building was added in 2009

  4. Oscar J. Ledford Building 2009 Houses the high school component of the Early College. The administrative offices and teacher offices are located here along with the high school classrooms.

  5. Do You Have What It Takes? • A good Attendance Record. • A Positive Work Ethic • Commitment • A desire to be challenged academically (Rigor). • Maturity- Able to work independently, and cooperatively in groups.

The Students • Committed to participation • Seeking college classes tuition free • Seeking atmosphere of small classes and a close knit, flexible learning community • Interested in taking personal responsibility for his/her education • Will meet the guidelines and expectations of college students
