  8. Assignment – Choose ONE • 1. The gap between the world's rich and poor continues to grow. "Malnutrition, AIDS, conflict and illiteracy are a daily reality for millions. But it isn't chance or bad luck that keeps people trapped in this unrelenting poverty. It's man-made factors like a debt burden so great that it suffocates any chance of recovery and insufficient and ineffective aid." • Visit the Make Poverty History and scroll to and view the video - Drop the Debt. Then browse their Take Action web site. Select a campaign that you would be interested in participating in. Identify the campaign that you selected (ie: who, what, where...) and describe what you selected to do about it. • OR.... • 2. Human rights violations can provoke ill health or can arise as a consequence of ill health. "Amnesty International campaigns on a whole spectrum of rights associated with health, from opposition to the death penalty and the denial of health care, to the right to safe drinking water and adequate nutrition. There is a role for everyone to play - get involved in our campaigns." • Select a cause from the United Nations Cyber School Bus or Amnesty International site. On the AI site, scroll down to Appeals for Action and select a cause. Identify the Cause that you selected from either website, (ie: who, what, where...) and describe what you selected to do about it. • Or.... • 3.
