  1. UK Education Partner Community Launch Event PARTNER FEEDBACK

  2. The launch event

  3. What would you like to get from the UK Education Partner Community? Networking: Please assist partners involved in the Community with networking. E.g. issue names of other participants prior to event, set up social networking and ensure events involve more breakout sessions for partners to meet other organisations within the ecosystem. Partner names will be shared prior to the next event (Partners to opt out by emailing ukedpart@microsoft.com if they do not want to do this). We have also launched a discussion forum on MEPN UK. Breakouts and more interactive sessions planned for next event on 12thApril. Cloud – Pricing & Commercials: More information required on: pricing models & billing for MS Cloud offerings, estimating costs for transferring customers from on to off premise, and how other partners are making the jump to the Cloud. This will be covered (as far as possible) via 12th April event and 18th April event. Partners can see Office 365 for Education pricing via MEPN, also via partner feature on MEPN UK. Cloud – Technical: More discussion on security challenges around Cloud, interoperability of MS Cloud with mobile devices Partners to review Whitepaper on data security HERE. This will be further covered in our forthcoming events on 12th & 18th April CRM Online: How can partners try this out and what’s the commercial model? • Customers and partners can download 30 day trials to have a look at the software. http://crm.dynamics.com/en-us/ • Silver and gold partners are also entitled to free CRM online licenses to run in house. Silver 100 users and Gold 250 users. http://crm.dynamics.com/crmforpartners

  4. What would you like to get from the UK Education Partner Community? Licensing: Need more information on changes to EES and commercial implications (e.g. customer opportunity and pricing), where to find licensing readiness & events. EES session available on 18th March and on 12th April. Follow up sessions also possible if required. Online training on MEPN also available. Information about Microsoft: More sales & marketing stats, future product roadmaps, market analytics (e.g. size of market, addressable spend) & to include charities. We will seek to cover this in forthcoming MS keynotes but NDAs may be required. Partner Showcase: Opportunity for partners to share key wins, case studies, showcase solutions etc. Partners should use the Win Wireto get this going – contact ukedpart@microsoft.com with your story! Government information: Provide information about changes to government policy and implications for the sector, further information about priority solutions for sector. Will seek to do this via future government speakers

  5. What are the challenges and opportunities which you foresee for education with the move to the Cloud? Data (sovereignty, security and ownership) and overall security issues still pose a problem. This should be covered by the forthcoming Q&A sessions but further sessions may be required. Need information about Live@edu to Office 365 transition. Propose to deliver this as a face to face session when more information is available. Some discussion will be possible on 28th March (Live@edu sessions) and 18th April (Office 365 session at TVP). Pricing of MS cloud offerings still requires clarification. More information needed on likely cost of transferring customers from on to off premise. This will be covered (as far as possible) via 12th April event and 18th April event. Partners can see Office 365 for Education pricing via MEPN.

  6. Which external speakers or industry specialists would you like to have to present at Community events? Mr Gove! We’ll try but don’t get your hopes up!  Happy customers and teachers talking about how they are using technology, external speakers from PFE, DFE, ISIS, KIO, HEFCE, JISC/JANET, adjacent government departments, early adopters of Cloud technology. HE/FE sector influencers. Happy to include. How would you like MS UK Education to communicate with you about new product releases and strategy updates? Fortnightly view of market by sector to include info from agencies and subject matter experts at MS. Blogs (more partner opportunities to post would be great). Link up marketing activity with community activities (e.g. cost saving marketing to be linked up with partner briefing, partner value prop, to allow them to maximise on opportunities). Links to customer opportunities and sales teams would also be appreciated. We’ll aim to include as much of this as we can in our Community events and updates.
