What did this mean in Jesus day? • Two groups of people • Jews and Gentiles • Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. • Jews  first • Gentiles  last • First will be last means…. • Last will be first means…

  12. For Us Today • Reward and punishment in Jesus day and in our day • A Personal Punishment memory – the baseball game • Rewards for following Jesus does not mean earthly rewards – we have control on earth – however rewards could occur • Rewards in Heaven

  13. An Earthly reward is knowing you are a good person when trying to be like Jesus! • My grand-aunt Helen’s funeral story • Feels good to know I am doing the right thing, thus making me a good person – and I bet you feel good knowing you are doing the right thing too.
