  2. Oak Oak is one of the most popular woods when and comes in two types white and red. Red Oak comes in warm tones ranging from creamy pink and golden red to brown, all with light swirled grain pattern. White Oak on the other hand, comes in slightly harder than red and has gray undertones. Both Oak wood type compliment variety of décor styles and it makes them most common hardwood floor choice.

  3. Cherry Cherry isn’t as hard as some wood floors so it must be suitable for areas with less foot traffic as it won’t hold up to abuse really well. Still it is prized for its warm and rich hues and smooth grain pattern. This makes it a good choice for sleek, modern designs. Just like Burbank oak floor, you can install it in any areas where less people would visit so it lasts longer.

  4. Walnut If you love rich, chocolate colored tones, then walnut hardwood floors are amazing for you. These come with deep, rich and chocolate tones along with large, straight grain patterns, walnut works well in light traffic areas. You can also find less variation in color from one board to another resulting in smooth consistent overall look to the completed flooring.

  5. Hickory Hickory rates higher on the Janka scale that is used to determine the hardness of woods, making it ideal choice for high traffic areas including family rooms and kitchens. It ranges in colors from beige to warm brown with dark streaks and contain large knots, making it highly suitable for country and rustic décor. Unlike Burbank oak floor, this is way more durable and has higher Janka rating.

  6. Maple Maple is another wood having high Janka rating. It is extremely durable and light colored than other top hardwoods, with shades from light cream and beige to tan with slight reddish tint. The fine grain pattern with darker streaks adds visual interest and allows it to compliment wide range of styles.
