Amendments #11-#12 • Interstate Commerce *Banned states from being sued by people from other states. • Presidential Elections *Cleaned up the process of electing the President and Vice President. Prior to this it was common for the President and Vice President to be from different political parties.

  3. Civil War Amendments #13-15 13. Abolish Slavery * Ended slavery in the United States. 14. Citizenship Definition (Equal Protection Clause) *No matter the race, religion, color or ethnicity we are equally protected by the law. 15. Voting Rights *No matter your race or color you can vote.

  4. Amendments #16-17 16. Income Tax *Made it legal to tax your income. 17. Senate Elections *Requires that the Senators from each state must be elected by the citizens of that state.

  5. Amendments #18-21 18. Prohibition *Prohibited the consumption of Alcohol 19. Women’s Suffrage *Women have the right to vote 20. Lame Duck Amendment *Sets terms of service. Dates of turnover 21.Repeals Prohibition *Repeals Amendment #18

  6. Amendments #22-24 22. Presidential Term Limits * Limited to two terms 23. Electoral College Includes DC *Prior to this Amendment, DC residents were not represented in the Electoral College. 24. Elimination of Poll Taxes *Was designed to stop minorities from voting.

  7. Amendments #25-27 25. Presidential Succession *Establishes formal line of succession 26. Voting Age set at 18 *Opens up younger vote 27. Congressional Salaries *Salary increases only after reelection
