    Astrocyte Analysis

By Rakesh Singrikonda [rsingrik@kent.edu] RambabuChelikani [rchelika@kent.edu] ManojThatikonda [mthatiko@kent.edu] Masters in Computer Science Kent State University
  2. Objective: automatically segment Individual Glial Cells. intelligent thresholding. Segmentation. Cell Analysis. 3d Analyzing. 3d view of objects classify astrocytes and provide volume and surface area.
  3. Previous work: Use of existing plug-ins in imagej. Selecting an image Converting it into 8 bit Applying threshold Make the image binary Analyzing the particles in 3d.
  4. Present work Developing a plug-in to perform all the previous works. Minimizing the user operations Loading the image directly when the plugin is called. Make the image 8-bit automatically Apply threshold on the image View the objects 3 dimensionally
  5. Our Plugin
  6. Opening an image
  7. Removing the unwanted images from the image stack using slice keeper FirstImage Processed Image
  8. Applying threshold to identify the Astrocyte cells
  9. Analyzing the particle size using the particle analyzer
  10. Results after analyze Identifying the required size to analyze
  11. Identifying the astrocyte using the analyzed results and ROI manager
