  1. English 4 Mrs. Lucas October 18, 2010

  2. What I Expect • Be on time • Be prepared • Have materials with you and know due dates. • Be a polite and positive participant • Don’t act like a moron. • Be productive • Turn in work on time, and always do your best. • Be an adult • Take responsibility for yourself.

  3. General Rules • Follow school rules. • NO standing at the door at the end of class. • Clean up after yourself. • Don’t talk when someone else is talking. • Go to the bathroom at the beginning or the end of class – not in the middle. • Don’t treat me like I’m an idiot. • Don’t take advantage of being treated like an adult. • If you choose to sleep in class, you will receive a 0 for all work completed in class that day.

  4. If you are absent … • Look online for what you missed. • Ask what you missed when you come back. • Make up what you missed and turn it in within a reasonable amount of time. • I treat you like adults, this means I will not come to you to tell you what you missed or to remind you to turn in make-up work.

  5. Grading • I don’t give many tests, so they do not affect your grade very much. • The majority of your grade comes from in-class assignments. If you do not complete the in-class assignments, you will fail. • Homework is infrequent, so when I assign it, I expect it to be completed.

  6. Make good use of class time • I almost always give you time in class to complete your work. If you do not take advantage of this time, you will have homework. • If you use your time wisely, you will not have homework.
