Transcripts • Do not detach your transcript from your forecasting form, as your teachers and counselors need to refer to this • Work in Progress (WIP) • Do not sign up for a course you are in this semester, or you have already passed • Grade Replacement • D, F, or W/F replaced by N if a C or better is earned • Grad Requirements Test History: Essential Skills -Reading 236, Writing 40, Math 236

  3. :Extended Application Graduation Requirement • May be completed in your junior year in the following classes: • AP Language • Marketing II • Child Development • German III/IV • Architecture Design

  4. Procedures:Forecasting • Put career choice on back part of form • Select classes totaling 7 credits (this does not include Access Tutorial) • Choose 5 alternate electives • Course selections decide schedule and hiring • Schedule changes will only be considered for inappropriate class placement

  5. Language Arts • 4 credits required for high school graduation • A good junior option: American Studies (combines 11th grade English and 11th grade US History) • Colleges require: - College Prep Language Arts - Grades of C or better • Non-College Prep Language Arts classes include: • Read/Write Lab (not NCAA approved) • Writing Lab (not NCAA approved) • Literacy Lab (not NCAA approved) • Language Arts Electives (not LA credit): • Newspaper / Yearbook

  6. Social Science • 3 credits required for high school graduation • 11th Grade: US History • US History • AP US History • American Studies (combines 11th grade English and 11th grade US History)

  7. Math • 3 credits required for high school graduation • 4 credits recommended for all students, especially those considering a math or science related career • Consult with your current math teacher for appropriate level • Colleges only accept grades of C or better. • Intervention classes will be added to your schedule if necessary

  8. Science • 3 credits required for high school graduation • It is recommended that you complete: • Biology, Physics, and Chemistry • There are 4 AP science classes to choose from • Minimum of 4 credits recommended for students considering a math or science related career • Colleges only accept grades of C or better

  9. PE/Health • 1 credit of Health required for high school graduation • 1 credit of PE required for high school graduation • Participation in sports or band will not satisfy PE/Health requirement

  10. World Language • Colleges require: - at least 2 credits of the same Foreign Language - Grades of C or better • Languages offered: French / German / Japanese / Spanish • Native Spanish speakers also have option of: - Spanish Literacy - Spanish Lit & Comp - AP Spanish

  11. Electives • Fill in your schedule with electives that interest you • Choose five alternate classes (rank them 1-5)

BSD Partial Day Options • Auto Mechanics (year-long, 1.5 credits) • Application required • Placement test required • Wed, March 19, 7pm, AHS Auto Classroom • Thu, March 20, 7pm, AHS Auto Classroom • Health Careers (year-long, 1.0 credits) • Concurrent enrollment of Human Anatomy/Physiology required • Application & Orientation night required • Wed, April 3 at Westview, 7-8:30pm in Auditorium • Thu, April 4 at Beaverton, 7-8:30pm in Auditorium • Field Biology & Sustainable Foods (year-long, 2.0 credits) • Application required • 1.0 Biology credit, 1.0 Applied Arts credit

  14. Timeline • Teachers will address course recommendations in classes this week • Forms will be collected in the Commons on February 26 & 28 (Tue/Thu) during Access Tutorial
