  1. Research into content management systems List of Options 1. Web Based CMS 2. Database Based 3. Web based solutions

  2. 1. Web Based CMS Webspell http://www.webspell.org/index.php This system will be used to create both the whole website, as well as an online diary for which the workers, who will need to know there next jobs will be able to view, via an XDA. They will also be able to create new events that will represent the lessons.

  3. 2. Database http://www.myoffice.net/maindiary.aspx My Office Main Diary This system is using a custom built system, that will allow multiple users to view / add / modify jobs. This would be an ideal solution to use, as it is avalible on multiple devices, so all our users will be able to work efficiently. This system would need to be installed on the local servers, and then have a webpage configured so that the workforce can view the jobs.

  4. 2. Database Microsoft Dynamics http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics/products/nav-overview.aspx This system is used on a local basis, where a central control adds / modify jobs on a standard designed database entry form. Jobs are then dispatched to the user via a web page solution. Users interact with the system via a simple webpage that displays jobs, there time, and additional information needed. Jobs are then altered on the system via simple data entry, or via communication with the central control.

  5. 3. Web Based Solutions vWork http://www.vworkapp.com/index.html Vwork is a web based solution that has been pre-made to allow dispatching of jobs, on a per worker basis. This is an ideal solution as it is extremly simple. It is also avalibe on popular handheld devices, which allows the user to add / modify / make notes on a job, or a task they have been set. This system does however cost for a commercial use, which will need to be taken into account. However it is a good solution.

  6. 3. Web Based Solutions Google Calendar Www.google.co.uk/calendar This system would be created using indervidual google accounts. This would be useful as each 'worker' has its own email adders for work use. These accounts would be managed by the team in an office, but would allow the users on mobile devices to manage, alter, and compltetly modify jobs. This would also keep an extended record of what hours are acutally worked. This is a free solution and is a very simple implementatin option. This is however only time consuming when the office would be logging jobs for each user, as they would have to login to the inderviuals account. However this keeps jobs seperate, and therefore makes a good argument for security.

  7. So whats the best solution? The use of a web based system would allow full control over the system, however this may not be a viable option as it would require a lot of pre-coding for the sysetm to work, as this would need extensive testing. Use of database systems would be a viable option, but is an expensive and possibly avoidable cost. These systems have been tested and would just require implementing and dispatching to the workforce. The use of these systems therefore would be a viable option Using a web based solution, This option has also been tested, this would also be a cost efective option.
