  4. Moving From SinTo Holiness

  5. We Believe that Sin • Original • Personal 5. SIN 6. Atonement 7. Prevenient Grace

  6. 7. Prevenient Grace • Grace is Un-merited or Un -Earned Favor. • Prevenient is an Event of His Favor to show us what His favor towards us is by reveling Sin and Grace to us.

  7. Prevenient Grace 7. We believe that the human race’s creation in Godlikeness included ability to choose between right and wrong, and that thus human beings were made morally responsible; that through the fall of Adam they became depraved so that they cannot now turn and prepare themselves by their own natural strength and works to faith and calling upon God.

  8. Prevenient Grace But we also believe that the grace of God through Jesus Christ is freely bestowed upon all people, enabling all who will to turn from sin to righteousness, believe on Jesus Christ for pardon and cleansing from sin, and follow good works pleasing and acceptable in His sight.

  9. Prevenient Grace We believe that all persons, though in the possession of the experience of regeneration and entire sanctification, may fall from grace and apostatize and, unless they repent of their sins, be hopelessly and eternally lost.

  10. ~What is Grace~

  11. Godlikeness and moral responsibility • And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” Genesis 2:16-17

  12. ; Godlikeness and moral responsibility When I consider your heavens,     the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars,     which you have set in place,4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,    human beings that you care for them? 5 You have made thema little lower than the angels  and crowned them with glory and honor. Psalm 8:3-5

  13. Natural inability Romans 3:9-12 Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. . As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;11     there is no one who understands;    there is no one who seeks God.12 All have turned away,    they have together become worthless;there is no one who does good,    not even one.”

  14. Free grace and works of Faith • 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:8-10;

  15. Free grace and works of Faith • Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. John 1:12-13 • Therefore, my brothers and sisters,[a] make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:10-11

  16. Application of Faith to Life • W hat is Previenent Grace? Who needs it and why? • Repentance! who me? What does Biblical repentance truly look like? • Are you sure you are forgiven?
