Another important site requirement is how well stealth and the plant can be hidden; this is for states with strict laws on marijuana cultivation. Once you have ascertained that the site has all the qualities needed for marijuana cultivation success, you can then prepare the site for cultivation.

  3. Sunlight It is important to note that sunlight is essential for the growth and maturity of your marijuana plant. So, during the site selection process, it is important to choose a place that avails your plants enough sunlight for maximum growth. The least that is appropriate for your plants is six hours of sunlight daily. Also, watch out for other trees and plants that may shade your plants. If you can, cut them off before planting. Note that if you are checking out your cultivating area in spring, there will be much foliage during the summer. Water A site with adequate rainfall is appropriate. However, if your site is located in areas with longer dry seasons, you will need an alternative source of water for your marijuana plants. Siting your farm close to a stream might be appropriate, but remember you might have to contend with flooding when the season for it comes. You can also get a water tank to augment your water needs. This could be attached to an irrigation system as well. This will ease the stress involved in artificially watering plants. Keep an eye for weather forecast and be adequately prepared for them. This is the key to keeping your marijuana plants alive till maturity. Soil When checking the soil of your site, note that a good soil should stay compacted when squeezed together, the soil should be able to fall apart easily when a little pressure is applied. Check the pH of the soil as well, it is easy to get a cheap pH meter. The soil should be slightly acidic with a pH if 5.5 to 6.5. If the soil is not up to par, you can improve the soil using manure, Perlite to improve drainage and aeration. Seeds or clone selection Clones are better than seeds when selecting which to plant. They have the right traits and are feminized. They are also at the seedling stage; this cuts away the nursery process entirely. However, if you want to go the seed route, ensure you get them from reputable stores and handle them with care to increase germination rate. Germination This section is for those going the seed route. There are two planting options. Direct field planting and nursery planting. Planting in the nursery has a higher germination rate, it gives you the control over critical stages of plant growth. Planting Strong nursery plants can then be transplanted to the field. Ensure the holes can accommodate the root system of the plant without being crushed. If this is done correctly, you will have healthy plants, reaching the vegetative stage fast ending up full and robust. You should also feed your plants with nutrients from fertilizers at the appropriate time.
