Launch Housing: History • Launch Housing is a merger between Hanover Welfare Services and Homeground, as of 1 July 2015 • Single focus is to end Homelessness • 15 sites across Melbourne • Provides services from early intervention to long term support models • Works across lifespan Launch Housing Dandenong – Bob’s Place: 35 Robinson St Dandenong • Only crisis accommodation facility in the Southern region • 24/7 response to people in housing crisis • Public shower (8am-8pm) • Information & referrals

Bob’s Place – Crisis Facility Catchment area: Reside or have links to: • Cities of Greater Dandenong and Casey • Shire of Cardinia On site crisis accommodation: • 15 unit facility – short term stays for families (4 units), couples (2 rooms) & single adults (9 rooms) • Assistance to develop a Pathway Plan: Housing Exit plan & support needs • City of Frankston • Mornington Peninsula • Pathway into Transitional housing for eligible families • Pathway into other LH programs

Bob’s Place – Access Crisis Facility: • Access to crisis accommodation is through Opening Doors agencies: WAYSS (9791 6111) or SalvoCare (9784 5050). • Vacancies are advertised on DHHS Resource Register and up to 4 referrals are accepted for each vacancy. Vacancies are filled on the day – no wait list. • Successful referral is determined by support needs and willingness to engage. • Residents are charged a lodging fee – eligible for Rental Assistance. After hours crisis response: • WAYSS/Salvocare phones redirected to LD, or direct call: 9792 0750 • LD staff complete Initial Assessment and Planning tool and determine eligibility for overnight accommodation, on behalf of OD agencies. • Clients are referred to relevant OD service for follow up and ongoing assistance next business day. • This is a bullet point

Bob’s Place – Crisis facility outcomes: Transitional Housing: • LD provides support to 22 WAYSS-managed THMS for families eligible for “Homeless with Support” public housing (pathway is via crisis facility or other LD support programs). • Focus on developing independent life skills and addressing support needs, including children’s needs. • Remain in THM until offer of permanent housing made (dependent on maintaining lease conditions). • Other: • Shared/rooming house, community rooming houses (eg YWCA/WomensHousing Ltd) • Private rental • Other supported housing: (eg MIND, Youth) Transitional Support: • A further 6-8 weeks outreach support is offered to residents exiting the facility. • WAYSS are able to refer both families and singles to support-only vacancies when available

Specialist Programs • Direct access: 9792 0750 for information and referrals • MHPRAP (Mental Health Private Rental Access Program) – brokerage • New Directions – private rental for employment ready • Financial Capabilities – Financial Education (in partnership with SECL) – with brokerage • Services Connect Pilot (until Oct 16) – service integration model • Restricted access: • Ridge properties – private rental ready • ICMI (Intensive Case Management) for adult singles/couples • Men’s Options (in partnership with VicPolice Family Violence response) – brokerage • Keys Program – in partnership with ERMHA • Central Intake: 1800 862 363 • Partners in Recovery – mental health case coordination model
