  4. The Umlauf Sculpture Garden is a museum and outdoor sculpture garden centered around the artistic works of American sculptor Charles Umlauf. In 1985, Charles and Angeline Umlauf donated their home, studio, and 168 Umlauf sculptures to the City of Austin. Six years later, in 1991, the city built a museum to display the artwork on adjoining city property with private funds

  10. In 2009, after repeated instances of vandalism, city leaders decided to turn the statue into a fountain and gave the entire square around the kissing couple a face lift. Dimitriy’s hope for the statue to become a popular place for dates seems to have become a reality as many people spend time sitting in the benches and lying out on the grass around the fountain.
