  2. How New Mexico became a state New Mexico became a state in January 6,1912 [47th] state. When the settlers came before the Europeans New Mexico became a state. It’s a new land by Mexico. New Mexico is named New Mexico because it has a Hispanic history that matches with the name New Mexico. New Mexico was a part of Mexico for a long time. New Mexico was controlled by Spain for years. People like living in New Mexico. There are more facts about New Mexico and how it became a state.

  3. State symbols My state capital is Santa Fe. My state bird is a Roadrunner. My state flower is a yucca. My animal is a black bear. My state gem is a Turquoise. My state tree is a pinion pine. And my state song is “O, Fair New Mexico.

  4. Famous people Nancy Lopez was born in 1957 she is still alive in New Mexico rite now. Nancy Lopez soon became a record breaking professional at golfing. She won 50 golf tournaments. Nancy Lopez is also in the ladies professional golf Association Hall of fame. Demi Moore was born in 1962. She is still alive she was born in Roswell New Mexico. She started in allot of hit movies, like Ghost and a few good men. She's the voice of Esmeralda in the Disney movie, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame. “
