  4. FACTS • Some Facts About Black Eyed Peas • The Black Eyed Peas is an American hip hop group. The group mainly • comprises rappers will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo, and singer Fergie. • Originally it was a hip hop group, they have added pop and dances. • The Black Eyed Peas date back to 1988, when eighth-grader William • Adams (will.i.am) and Allan Pineda (apl.de.ap) met and began rapping • and performing together around Los Angeles. • They were originally named ATBAN clan. In 1995, the third member • Taboo (Jaime Gomez) joined the group and it was renamed to Black • Eyed Peas. • They released their first album, Behind the Front in 1998. • Their third album Elephunk began development on November 2, 2001. • It featured the vocals of current member Fergie and released in 2003.

Their fourth album, Monkey Business, was recorded through 2004 • and was released on June 7, 2005. • On March 21, 2006, The Black Eyed Peas released a remix album, • titled ’Renegotiation’s: The Remixes to iTunes • In 2007, The Black Eyed Peas embarked on the Black Blue & You • World Tour, visiting more than 20 countries. • It was not until the release of their third album Elephunk in 2003 • that they found widespread acclaim and achieved high record • sales.  • According to Nielsen SoundScan, the Black Eyed Peas are the • second-best-selling artist or group for downloaded tracks, with • over 42 million sales as of the end of 2011. • Since 2003, the group has sold an estimated 56 million records • worldwide.

ABOUT THE FAMOUS NUMBER “I Gotta Feeling” “I Gotta Feeling" was written and composed by all the members of The Black Eyed Peas ( credited by William Adams, Allan Pineda, Jaime Gomez, Stacy Fergussson) together with David Guetta and Fredric Registerer who produced the song. William provided additional synch work to the song. The song was recorded at Square Prod in Paris and Metropolis studio in London. In the United States, the song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number two, behind "Boom BoomPow", prompted by sales of 249,000 downloads. The lyrics for “I Gotta Feeling” explains how after being stressed out, there is a need to kick back and relax, and to simply have a good time.
