  2. The extension of the district is 1,784.81 SqKm. The population of the district is 13,80,000. The number of male citizen is 6,97,000 & women 6,83,000. The density of population is 762 people/SqKm. The growth rate is 1.48%. Most of the population are Muslims. There are people of different casts & cultures are also living there.

  3. In the war of our Independence Thakurgaon was in Sector-6. The number of enlisted freedom fighters are 1,730. Among them 373 are wounded Freedom Fighters. The name of the first martyr is Mohammed Ali. Number of Mass grave is 18. It was completely free from enemies in 3rd December 1971. There are 5 Upozilas, 6 police stations & 1016 villages in Thakurgaon. There are many presentable spaces in Thakurgaon such as RanisonkoilJamider Bari, HaripurJamider Bari, RamraiDighi, KhuniaDighi, Nath Temple, JogdolRajbari, etc.

Schools, 65 KG Schools, 419 High Schools, 159 Madrashas, 45 Colleges, 1 PTI & 1 Polytechnic institutes in Thakurgaon. The literacy rate is 49.43%.
