2. AGENCY LOCATIONS HopeSparks currently has 4 office locations: Tacoma Main Office Gig Harbor Puyallup Tacoma Community College

3. Healing Hearts/LIFT Program Services • Four core areas of therapy: • Trauma, depression, anxiety • Behavioral treatment for kids • Parent Education and Training - PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapy) • Incredible Years Program • Couples, individual and family therapy • Eating recovery program - dietician and therapist

4. Serves low income families with quality mental health, family, individual and couples counseling • Low or limited income and who do not have insurance may be eligible for the LIFT Program • Couples counseling-conflict reduction improve communication • Resource referrals • Treatment specific to client needs

5. Services not included-LIFT Program • Counseling for drug and alcohol addiction • We do, however, provide counseling for family members of those with drug and alcohol addiction • We refer out to city-funded partners such as MDC, Pierce County Alliance and Community CounselingInstitute

6. Our agency does not provide treatment for • Domestic violence • Sexual abuse perpetrators • LIFT, however, can provide treatment for adults, adolescents and children suffering from the effects of trauma due to DV or sexual abuse

7. LIFT Counselor Qualifications • Internship allowed while working on Master’s Degree or • Possesses Master’s / Ph.D. in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Family Therapy or related field • Good clinical, empathy and listening skills • Participates in ongoing training(s) and supervision by experienced clinical supervisors

8. LIFT Leadership Positions • LIFT Program Coordinator- Bill DeWitt, 25 years of counseling experience • Oversees interns and their clients for the LIFT Program ensuring up to date training, regular meetings, as well as planning and supervision of LIFT counseling staff and Resource Coordinator

LIFT Leadership Continued • Low Income Family Therapy Coordinator - Sheila McCann • Assists clinical clients with outside referrals • Healthcare Navigator for HopeSparks clients • Collaboration with city funded and other partners • Support LIFT Program Coordinator with training • Assists with LIFT program intakes • Planning of new ideas to meet client needs

10. HOPES CLOSET • Assists with donations and operations of HopesCloset: • Clothing, personal hygiene items • Set operating hours and by appointment • HopeSpark’s clients only

Success Stories Continued • 30 year-old mother of three • Struggling with anxiety and stress • Struggling with resources needed • Custody issues with two children • Resource Coordinator assisted with relieving a lot of stress by providing: • HopesCloset clothing and personal items • A sponsor for a child’s birthday who would have otherwise not received gifts or cake

18. Success Stories continued • 30 year-old mother continued • Referral for utility assistance to pay a large utility bill that no other organization would assist with • Juvenile Court contact - to discuss custody issues Currently Mom is excited and preparing for her child to come home.

20. 2013-2014 LIFT Statistics - Clients Served COT MHCD funds made the following possible: • 2013 July-December • 199 Clients served • 101 of those within the City of Tacoma • 2014 January-April • 75 Clients served • 44 of those within the City of Tacoma • July 2013 - end of June 2014 199+50 unduplicated clients total-30 COT clients open currently
