  2. Dr. Jekyll was a good doctor. He lived in London with his butler, Poole and his maid, Amanda.

  3. In his house he had a lab where he made new drugs. . But there was one drug he made that was just for him.

  4. Dr. Jekyll wanted to split his good side from his evil side. His friend, Dr. Lanyon, laughed at him and said that it could not be done.

  5. One night Dr. Jekyll mixed together a red liquid with a white powder and made his magic drug.

  6. Dr. Jekyll drank it down. He felt sick!

  7. When he felt okay, he saw that he had changed into a different man.

  8. He was smaller and younger. • His hair was long. • His eyes were small and mean. • His nose was flat. • His teeth were sharp and crooked. This was Dr. Jekyll’s evil side and he named him, Mr. Hyde.

  9. He drank his magic drug and turned back into the good Dr. Jekyll. When Dr. Jekyll drank the magic drug, he turned into the evil Mr. Hyde. Then he did bad things.

  10. He drank and got into fights. He hurt a little girl and he killed a kind man.

  11. Then the evil Mr. Hyde would drink the magic drug and turn back into the good Dr. Jekyll.

  12. The more Dr. Jekyll drank the magic drug, the stronger Mr. Hyde became and the weaker Dr. Jekyll became. One day Dr. Jekyll turned into Mr. Hyde but he did not drink the magic drug.

  13. Dr. Jekyll never left his lab anymore. He had to take more and more of the magic drug to turn back into Dr. Jekyll.

  14. At last Dr. Jekyll was going to have no more of the white powder he needed to make the magic drug.

  15. Dr. Jekyll made one last drug that would end his life before he turned into Mr. Hyde forever.
