  4. Goals for the Committee • Subset of Operations Committee designed to assess targeted issues on which the Board would like community input. These included the following: • Review all existing property holdings. • Review transition from nine (9) elementary schools to three (3) elementary schools • Plan for tennis courts along Log College Drive (poor condition) • Hart School Property- plan for next steps • Johnsville Administration Property- plan for long term maintenance

February-March, 2013 • Bus tour of district properties • Review of enrollment projections • Tour of Johnsville Administration Building • Recommendation to remove tennis courts • Recommendation to research options for Johnsville Administration Building and the Hart School • Recommendation to have appraisals of the Administration building and land, Hart School, Centennial Road frontage, and Newtown Road property.

  6. April-June, 2013 • Presentation of quotes on Hart School, Newtown Road, and Johnsville • Order for limited scope appraisal recommended • Plan for return of Hart School to the District from the township • Review of architects for Johnsville Feasibility Study moves to Operations Committee • Maintenance costs for Hart School explored • Options for Hart School are reviewed: Decision to gather proposals for July • Open space • Nature center

  7. July-October, 2013 Reports regarding potential Hart Property Development • Bucks County Conservancy • Bucks County Farm Association • Burpee Seed Company • Churchville Nature Center • Delaware Valley College • Middle Bucks Institute of Technology • Warminster Baseball Association

  8. July-October, 2013 • Discussions of potential use for Hart School continued. The committee further investigated funding sources • Continued work with Bucks County Conservancy • Request for Proposal issued to garner interest in Hart School development • Review of Architect Proposal for Administration Building • Renovation of existing site (basic to comprehensive) = 2.8 million-8.0 million • Relocation to a newer building with some renovation = 6.5 million • New construction at unidentified site = 8.7 million • Options ranged from 2.8 million to 8.7 million.

  9. July-October, 2013 • Tours of various potential sites for the Johnsville relocation • Architect updates for both renovation and relocation • RFP results for Hart School yielded no interest • Final meeting to formulate recommendations • The discussions at this 11/19/13 meeting summarized all previous information so that the committee could vote for recommendations to go to the full Board on the following topics: • Hart School Property • Newtown Road Property • Johnsville Administration Building

  10. Outstanding Issues • The operations status report for the upcoming three years were presented by Mr. Berdnik. This included a summary of all pending projects. • Fiscal forecast and means to pay for potential project at Johnsville was discussed. • Tennis Courts were removed and will be seeded.

  11. Recommendations • Recommendation to sell Hart School property. • Recommendation to sell the Newtown Road parcel. • Recommendation to relocate the administration building to a location yet to be determined. The renovation would occur in the new location.
