  2. What is PARRC? PARCC Consortium • “New York is a governing state in the Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC or Partnership), which will develop a K-12 assessment system aligned to the Common Core State Standards in English language arts and mathematics. These assessments will help states which have joined the Partnership – including New York – to dramatically increase the number of students who graduate high school ready for college and careers.” 2014-15 estimated to begin assessments - • A performance-based assessment (PBA) component, administered after approximately 75% of the school year, and • An end of year assessment (EOY) component, administered after approximately 90% of the school year. • (http://usny.nysed.gov/rttt/standards-assessments/parcc.html) • http://www.parcconline.org/ • http://www.parcconline.org/samples/item-task-prototypes
