What is an eFolio? • Visit eFolio Minnesota at www.efoliominnesota.com and learn more about the electronic portfolio which is designed to help you create a living showcase of your education, career and personal achievements. • You can create an eFolio for many purposes; job seeking/electronic resume, assessment/competency highlights, career planning & exploration and more!

3. What is a Career eFolio? • In our Career Life Planning class we are going to create a Career eFolio which will help you bring together all that you are learning in class about yourself in relation to career and life planning. It allows you to reflect upon what you have been learning in class, to identify some career goals for yourself and to organize your plan of action on how you are going to achieve your goals.

5. Important • When you write the reflections I want you to expand your understanding of yourself in relation to your career exploration. In other words: • “So what does this really mean to you???” • You can use some of the pieces from your reflections, but you will want to add something or enhance what you have written… try to go beyond what you originally said – you know more about yourself now – so you should be able to add with ease!

Career eFolio • Project #4 is worth 250 points. • The points will be distributed among the following categories: • Career Life Planning Overview – 30 points • Career Plan – 60 points • Educational Plan – 30 points • Personal Plan – 30 points • Leadership Plan – 30 points • Peer Review – 20 points • Showcase – 50 points

7. What you need to include! • Career Life Planning Overview: • THREE of the following: • Lifeline Exercise & Reflection • Where does your time go? Exercise & Reflection • Work Priority Grid & Reflection • Top 3 Values & Reflection

8. What you will need to include! • Career Plan: • Include ALL of the following: • Strong Interest Inventory • Keirsey Temperament Sorter - Personality • WOWI – Skills • Career Web Resources – your favorite five • Two Careers Researched • Informational Interview Summary

9. What you will need to include! • Educational Plan: • Include ALL of the following: • Education History • Past colleges or High School • Current Major or Program & Why (if undecided – explain why and what you will need to do to make a decision) • Course Plan • Either Spring & Summer semester or Spring & Fall semester planned courses • Coursework Showcase • Three Important Completed Items from your coursework – can be uploaded as a document • Transfer Plans • What are your transfer plans? • Name a useful website about transferring and what kind of information you can find there • If you are not transferring, then other plans?

What you will need to include! • Personal Plan: • Include ALL of the following: • Action Plan • Stress Management • List five symptoms of stress • List ten stress management techniques that you can use • What is your plan for managing your stress? • EXTRA CREDIT • Mission Statement • Testimonial Dinner • +25 if you include them in your e-folio

What you will need to include! • Leadership Plan: • Include ALL of the following: • Activities/Events • At least 2 things you are involved in on campus or have been in, in the past • Awards/Accomplishments • List at least 3 things • Volunteering/Service Learning • Your experiences or your future plan • Networking Plan • What is your plan to network? • List 3 important things to know about networking • Internship Plan • Do you plan to do an internship? • Who might you talk to about this? • List 2 important things to know about getting an internship

12. Peer Review & Showcase • Your e-folio will be reviewed by your peers when you present on a “Showcase” day • I will take an average of the scores your peers provide and give you points based on their feedback (20 possible points) • You will be given points for presenting your e-folio in class on a “Showcase” day (50 points)
