Overall Satisfaction with School District: 94 Percent! 89% in 2014
I Consider My Child’s School to be an Excellent School: 95% (up 9%)-Elementary School (up 7%)-Middle School (up 8%)-High School (up 9%)
“The Cambridge school system has done an awesome job engaging both our sons. For our oldest who tended towards the gifted and talented, there seemed to be many resources for him to embrace. The size of the school classes and the teacher-to-student ratio seems to be a bonus for kids to thrive in whatever direction their talents and/or interests gravitate.”
“There is a lot of encouragement from school teachers to try events out of the classroom like Science Olympiad and Solo & Ensemble.”
I am Kept Up-to-Date on School Activities, Events and Other Important News 94% (up 4%)
“There is a lot of communication coming from the school in many different ways. I really appreciate it!”
The Discipline Practices of my Child’s School are Fair and Effective 79% (up 1%)
“I am informed when my children are "off" and I am very appreciative of calls or emails.”
My Child’s School Does an Excellent Job of Dealing with School Bullying 72% (up 5%)
“I only have one experience (that I know of) with my child being bullied at CES. I was very happy with how it was handled, the teacher contacted us and gave us all the information and how it was being addressed. I suspect a lot of bullying goes undetected--I can only hope that teachers and staff keep their ears open.”
The School is Responsive to Parent/Guardian Concerns 91% (up 3%)
“Every time I have had a question or concern, I have heard back almost immediately. I greatly appreciate the responsiveness and attentiveness to any issues raised.”
I Feel Welcome at My Child’s School 95% (down 1%)
The School Buildings and grounds are Clean and Well Maintained 99% (up 1%)
My Child’s School is Safe and Secure 91% (down 3%)
“I think the district does everything that it has the power to do to keep the schools safe and secure. I think additional changes are necessary for schools to be safe and secure, however those things are not within the power of the district to accomplish. Thank you for all you do.”
Families are Positive or Neutral Toward Late Start Wednesdays 97% (up 12%)
“LOVE late start Wednesday for what it does for the teachers, exposure for older students to help, and the little break (1 hour extra sleep) it provides. I hope these continue indefinitely.”
The School Recognizes Students for Their Accomplishments 92% (up 4%)
The District Effectively Transitions Students From One School to the Next 95% (up 8%)
“I appreciate the effort to give students a taste of opportunities at the other schools prior to the grade change. This is especially well done for band!”
My Child has Limited or No Adequate Access to the Internet 5% (up 3%)
“Horrible internet at home in the town of Christiana.” “We are rural - fast internet is simply not an option.”
“One person can use it at a time.” My family resides outside of cable/DSL Internet capabilities, and satellite internet has been far too expensive for my spouse and I to purchase. That only leaves access at our local library, which is difficult to get to with parental work schedules and the library’s operating hours.”
I am Satisfied with the Recreation Opportunities available through CAP and the School District 89% (up 7%)
“Great job - given size of community, Cambridge/CAP does a great job!”
