ARA’s Mission The mission of the American Renaissance Academy is to inspire each student to be a confident, competent, compassionate and moral individual prepared to contribute to the rapidly changing global community. The American Renaissance Academy provides a rigorous, individualized and comprehensive college-preparatory program challenging students to think critically and creatively while instilling a passion for artistic growth and life-long learning. The American Renaissance Academy’s administration, faculty and staff are chosen for their expertise and ability to foster nurturing and safe learning environment, promoting honesty and integrity while modeling only the highest ethical and moral standards.

  2. ARA’s Vision It is our vision to serve the needs of Hawaii’s students. A.R.A is working closely with a university in order to identify gifted students as well. A.R.A. offers students an innovative and exceptional education associated with a leading K-12 school and University. For the success of each student, we support the philosophy of a “Leaning Team” for the student to receive the best possible education. The “Learning Team” is comprised of the student, teacher, and tutor where applicable. Through a secure environment and the support of a nurturing “Learning Team, ARA’s students will have the best possible learning environment to accomplish their goals.

About ARA • Learning Environment: • A 1:16 teacher to student ratio • An extended school day (8:30 – 4:30) • One and a half hour classes • Homework/out of class work completed during the school day. • A highly interactive learning environment (SmartBoards and individual laptops) • Dual Credits For College Courses • After School Classes until 6:45pm • Faculty Info: The American Renaissance Academy’s administration, faculty and staff are chosen for their expertise and ability to foster nurturing and safe learning environment, promoting honesty and integrity while modeling only the highest ethical and moral standards.

About ARA • Student's Coursework: • College courses that provide real college credits will transfer with your student • An individual program based on ability • A variety of courses , K—University (testing required) • A year- long music course and specialized P.E. course. • Challenging and Engaging Curriculum K - University • A Strong Commitment to Visual and Performing Arts in the Core Curriculum. • Physical Education that develops each students personal fitness program. • Four World Language Choices - Japanese, Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin), French. • Fully online and "Blended" courses. • Campus: • Safe and secure environment with modern security features • A 6 lane swimming pool has been installed on the campus for ARA’s exclusive use • State of the art musical theater, classrooms, technology center, gymnasium and arts building scheduled for completion for the 2011-2012 school year

  5. Programs ARA also offers a unique after-school program that includes group and private lessons. These lessons are open to the general public for ages 5-18 years old. Group Lessons Include: Ballet Hula Ukulele Martial Arts Swim team Musical Theater Japanese Golf Private Lessons Include: Violin Ukulele Piano Ballet Voice Jazz

  6. Admissions Applicants for 2009 – 2010 should have their 5th birthday by December 31, 2009. Prior to being admitted, prospective Kindergarten students must submit an application, attend a family interview, and complete the required entrance examination. Students that are applying for specific advanced courses are required to take additional assessment examinations for the respective courses.
