  1. What Is the ADDIE Model? • The ADDIE model is a generic and simplified instructional system design model • ADDIE is short for • Analyze • Design • Develop • Implement • Evaluate

  2. History Overview • 1975- creation of ADDIE, by the Center for Educational Technology at Florida State University for the U.S Army • Early 80s- steps within phases changed to fit an organization’s needs. • Mid 80s-ADDIE changed from a Waterfall model to Dynamic model • Mid 80s-Last phase changed from Evaluation and Control to Evaluation. • 1995- First used as an Acronym

  3. Includes Five Phases • Analyze Phase • Design Phase • Develop Phase • Implement Phase • Evaluate Phase

  4. Analysis Phase • Often known as Front-End Analysis • Foundation for all subsequent design and development activities • The instructional problem is clarified • Goals and objectives are established • The learning environment and learner characteristics are identified

  5. Design Phase • Instructional strategies are designed and media choices are made during the design phase • Ends in model or blueprint of training process for future development • Includes Five keys for future development • Learning objectives • performance test • Learning steps • Entry behaviors • Structure and sequence the instructional outline

  6. Development Phase • Materials are produced according to decisions made during the design phase • Fleshes out all previous content built in the previous phases (Analysis and Design)

  7. Implementation Phase • Also known as Delivery phase. • Testing of prototypes • Targeted Audience • Putting the product in full production • Training learners and instructors on how to use product

  8. Evaluation Phase Consist of two parts • Formative • Formative is present in each stage • Summative • Summative consist of test for criterion-related referenced items and providing opportunities for feedback from the users.
