  2. RhodiolaRosea ??? Rhodiolarosea is a herb that is native to the artic regions of Europe, Asia and Alaska. Rhodiola is a member of the Crassulaceaefamily, historically used in Iceland, Sweden, France, Russia and Greece as a medicinal plant primarily used as a anti-fatigue treatment and Adaptogen compound (WebMD. (2015)).

What can Rhodiola do for you? • Rhodiola has been used to help with the following issues: • Increase mental focus and concentration- great for students, military, medical field • Increased stamina- EMT’s, firefighters, athletes, parents • Increased energy- multiple jobs, athletes, parents • Shorten recovery time after strenuous exercise

Rhodiola uses continued: • Improve sexual dysfunction • Depression • Increased immunity • Helps the body recover quicker from stress Rhodiola has also been effective in: amenorrhea, asthenia, cancer, cardiac problems, colds and flu, depression, and enhancing thyroid and thymus gland function (Hallnet, 2015).

  5. If you take drugs for diabetes orally or injections, Rhodiola my cause a unsafe drop in blood sugar. Rhodiolamay lower blood sugar levels. Caution is advised when using drugs that may also lower blood sugar. • If you take blood thinners such as aspirin, Warfarin, Coumadin, anti platelet, or ibuprofen, check with your physician before starting a Rhodiola regiment. Rhodiola may increase the risk of bleeding. • If you use CNS depressants, Rhodiola may cause drowsiness. • If you use any of the following: acetaminophen, acetazolamide, alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, anti-anxiety agents, antibiotics, anticancer agents, antidepressants (including monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs)), anti-inflammatory agents, antivirals, catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitors, CNS stimulants, drugs that affect blood lipid levels, drugs that affect the heart and vascular system, estrogens, exercise performance-enhancers, heart rate-regulating drugs, agents that affect the immune system, nicotine, opiates, P-glycoprotein-regulated agents, pentobarbital, sedatives, theophylline, or weight loss agents, Rhodiola may have an adverse reaction (Hallnet, 2015).
