(ELACC12L1-6) • ELACC11-12RI1: Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text, including determining where the text leaves matters uncertain. • What am I going to do today? • Bellwork: vocab in context • Discuss “Tenants of Belief” • MLA handout • PEE in your Paragraphs • Lab to write Paragraphs • What will I do to show I learned it? • Beowulf Musical Connection assignment DUE THURSDAY • Submit work for all stages of the research project • Interview ANSWERS due 8/25

Musical Connection Assignment • Remember to PEE in EACH paragraph: • Point: • Should be your first sentence • introduce your claim/topic sentence/thesis • Evidence: • 1+ line from song • 1+ line from Beowulf • Make sure to utilize Lead-in/Signal Phrases • Don’t forget to CITE! • Explain: • 4-5 sentences of explanation • Connect the dots for your reader • SHOW your thinking • Be convincing! Other Criteria • 1 vocab word per paragraph, underlined. • 1 higher-level sentence, underlined. • MLA format • “Song Titles” (quotation marks) • Epic Poems (italics) • Literary present tense • Revise & Proofread
