  2. Who are we? Dr. Tafeis a Ph.D. of marine biology, who has worked for CSIRO fisheries and a number of universities, describing 14 new species of marine crustaceans. We employ qualified biologists for our field trips.

  3. What do we do? • Biology and marine ecology field trips for college and university students. • Recreational safaris for local and international tourists. • Marine biodiversity research associated with the Queensland Museum.

  5. Mangrove Study The Mangrove Study is conducted at low tide in a pristine mangrove area, which exhibits at least 2 species of Australian mangroves.

  7. Rocky Shore Study There is a huge variety of plant and animal species in the rock platform community. Each group of 5 students is supplied with an illustrated identification guide and a set of measuring equipment to assist this study.

  9. Freshwater Study The Freshwater Study is conducted at a typical freshwater lake some kilometers from the coastline. Students are supplied with illustrated ID sheets and equipment to conduct the study.

  11. Zooplankton Study Dr Tafe is a specialist on zooplankton and has described 14 new species of marine crustaceans. The Zooplankton Study is carried out at night in the laboratory, using fresh zooplankton samples caught an hour earlier with a 500 micron mesh plankton net.

  12. Sand Dune Study The Sand Dune Study is conducted in a sand dune area which exhibits a succession of vegetation. The sand dune plant community consists of various species, each suited to a particular zone in the dune system.
