  3. Hippolyta: Former Queen of the Amazons • Engaged to marry Theseus • Something Cool! In DC Comics, she is the mother of Wonder Woman!

  4. Hermia: Beautiful young maid of Athens • In love with Lysander • Willing to disobey her father to marry him

  5. Egeus: Hermia’s father • Demands that Hermia marry Demetrius

  6. Lysander: Athenian youth in love with Hermia • Persuades Hermia to elope with him against her father’s wishes

  7. Demetrius: Athenian; also loves Hermia • Was engaged to Helena before he met Hermia
