  4. Family Reunions Have you ever been to a family reunion? They are always interesting. The last time my family got together was at Big Springs, Missouri, two years ago. Hugging and kissing started as soon as relatives poured out of their cars. I had to duck and hide from Aunt Monica so my face wouldn’t be covered in red lipstick. Yuck! My aunts and uncles were taking pictures like we were movie stars on red carpet. It was a sight to see. After everyone arrived, we hiked up the trails to the waterfall. Small children surrounded us, and we had to be careful no one dropped into the water below us. Between visiting and the roar of the water, it was really hard to hear. You would have thought we were at a ballgame because of the noise. I dodged a few spiders and ticks on the trail but returned to the picnic area without a scratch. Sadly, Justin couldn’t say the same thing. He stumbled over

  5. a rock and landed face first on the ground. My Aunt Shirley had her trusty first aid kit with her and quickly bandaged his boo-boos. The band aid across his nose was a sight to see. Finally, we returned to the campsite and had lunch. It was potluck, so everyone brought a dish. My mom made homemade bread, and it was delicious! She always bakes the best bread. Everyone ate and visited for what seemed like hours. As we were getting ready to leave, Aunt Opal lost her footing and fell. It was sad to see her leave in the ambulance with a broken hip. All the other family members said goodbye. An assortment of high fives and hugs surrounded us like bees buzzing on honey. We knew that it might be two or three years before we will be able to get together again. That was a memorable family reunion. I can’t wait until the next one.

After dinner, Aunt Opal fell and broke her hip. She left in an ambulance. The rest of us said goodbye. An assortment of high fives and hugs surrounded us like bees buzzing on honey. That was a memorable family reunion. I can’t wait for the next one. Warning: BORING!
