Policy Context • Shift towards Big Society and Localism… set against significant budget cuts • Community Budgets (emerging from Total Place) • New structures – Local Enterprise Partnership, Health & Wellbeing Board, Public Health role for the local authority, Local Children’s Partnerships – how do these ‘fit’ locally? • No LAA beyond March 2011 – greater focus on locally determined measures, accountable to residents, not government

Partnership Restructure • Key principles: streamlined, cost/time efficient, structured for delivery, inclusive but focused • Governance restructure complete – new Board meets on 3rd December • Delivery restructure – how does the Partnership deliver the SCS? • Theme Groups • District LSPs • Areas of Highest Need

  4. Sustainable Community Strategy • Single strategy for county and six districts • Shorter (20 pages) • Fewer priorities • No longer arranged by theme – collective responsibility for all priorities • Greater focus on delivery, priorities which local partners can influence
