  3. Why use EndNote? • To maintain a personal library of references on a research topic. • Cite and create your references in WORD. • Format your citation style in your paper. • Managing results from online databases.

  4. How to start? Install EndNote • http://software.um.edu.my/ Create your library • Start EndNote • Choose “Create a new Library”

  5. Creating new references • Entering citation information directly into a blank Reference Type template • Importing references directly from online databases • Importing text files of references that have been saved from online databases • Connecting to an online database and retrieving references directly into EndNote

  6. Step in EndNote • Input Manually • Importing References directly From Online Databases • Importing References directly From internet • Cite and create Bibliographies in Microsoft WORD

  7. Create a new EndNote library Click create a new library

Step 2Importing references directly from ABI/Inform@ProQuest (online database) • select references from search result • click on icon labeled “export” • click next to “Direct Export to EndNote, ProCite, or Reference Manager “ Click Export directly to EndNote, ProCite or Reference Manager Select references & click “Export” References imported to EndNote

  13. Login to Google Scholar Website: www.scholar.google.com • Click Scholar Preferences Step 3Importing references directly from google scholar Click Scholar Preferences At Bibliography Manager select EndNote and save Preferences

  15. Cite while you write • Select “find Citation” Step 4Cite and create references in Microsoft WORD 1) Select “find Citation” as to insert citation 3) Reference imported from EndNote 2) Search for keyword and select “insert” option 3) Result of “cite while you write”
