NMC vs. NMC-P in PCB Flexure Testing  PCB Flexure Comparison Testing NMC standard & NMC-PSoft Terminal MLCCs Cross-Sectional Analysis Comparison After de-mounting from test PCB, performed cross-sectional comparison to allow inspection of internal structure NMC Series NMC-P Series PCB flexure MLCC cracking Low IR, Short failure mode • Summary: • All standard terminal (NMC series) samples exhibited failure under PCB flexure testing • Failure mode defined as capacitance decrease ≥12.5% and low insulation resistance (IR) • Cracking in ceramic microstructure (as shown in above image, left) is cause of the failure • None of the NMC-P series (polymer soft terminal) exhibited failure • No cracking was observed in NMC-P series (polymer soft terminal) Page 5
