    2. Intake Stroke piston moves from TDC to BDC partial vacuum created in cylinder intake valve opens exhaust valve stays closed air/fuel mixture enters cylinder

    3. Compression Stroke intake valve closed exhaust valve closed air/fuel mix trapped piston travel is BDC to TDC air/fuel mixture is compressed ignition occurs near TDC

    4. Power Stroke air/fuel burns and expands rapidly .002 seconds to full combustion pressure both valves closed piston travel is TDC to BDC great force applied to top of piston

    5. Exhaust Stroke piston travel BDC to TDC exhaust valve opens intake valve remains closed hot exhaust forced past open exhaust valve
