Overview of the Course • 5 immersions • September 7-8th (2 days) • October 19-20th (2 days) • Nov 30th– Dec 4th (5 days) – practicum • Feb 29th– March 4th (5 days) – training clinics • June 6-8th (3 days) – assessments • Shadow consultations + half-day analysis online • Regular audio Q&A sessions

Curriculum • Module 1 (September) • Introduction to Ayurveda • History of Vedic Science & Ayurveda • Fundamentals of Ayurveda • Introduction to Sanskrit • Module 2(October) • Tri-dosha concept • Vatadosha– attributes, sites & imbalance • Pitta dosha– attributes, sites & imbalance • Kaphadosha– attributes, sites & imbalance

  5. Curriculum • Module 3 (Nov - Dec) • DravyaGunaVinjnana (Ayurvedic Pharmacology) • Rasa, Guna, Veerya, Vipaka, Prabhava • Rasa (the 6 tastes) • The Agnis (enzymes) • Ama and its formation • SaptaDhatu (7 tissues) • Srotas (Channels of circulation)

  6. Curriculum • Module 3 (Nov - Dec) –practicals • Rasa (the 6 tastes) – taste tests • Discovering doshic tendencies – simple consultations with volunteer patients • Medicine making – demonstrations & instructions • Pulse diagnosis • Tongue, stool, urine diagnosis

Curriculum • Module 4 (Feb - March) • Rogipariksha (examination of the patient) • Pulse diagnosis • Urine diagnosis • Stool diagnosis • Tongue diagnosis • Rogapariksha (examination of the disease) • Nidhana (causative factors) • Classification of diseases • Ojas (immunity) • Dravyaguna (Ayurvedic pharmacology) • Chikitsa • Case studies

  8. Curriculum • Module 4 (Feb - March) –Practicals • Live training clinics full day • Identification of herbs and plants • Live training clinic full day • Case studies

  9. Training clinics • Whole day training clinic x 2 • 6-7 patient consultations p/day • Groups of 3 / 4 students • Supervised by the doctors • Plenary session with patients at the end • Discussion of findings & advice

  10. Sanskrit • Decoding Ayurveda through Sanskrit • In person classes during immersions • Chanting & Kirtan • No assessment for Level 1

  11. Assessments • Theory assessment (60%) • 3-hours • MCQs • Problem questions • Practical assessment (40%) • 30 minutes • Case studies (required to qualify) • Submit 2 case studies (3 consultations each)
